| North Norfolk Coast |
South Creake
is 7 miles from Wells and Holkham and 4 miles inland
from Burnham Market in the attractive North Norfolk countryside.
There are fabulous beaches at Wells, Holkham and Brancaster
and the coastline is owned by either the National trust,
the RSPB or the Holkham Estate, so has remained completely
unspoilt. But North Norfolk has much more to offer than
just the beaches – there is Holkham Hall, Houghton
Hall and a few miles away the National Trust property Blickling
Hall , and the Sandringham Estate. |
|
| There are RSPB reserves at Titchwell and Cley, several
narrow gauge railways – Walsingham to Wells is the
nearest and longest, and in South Creake itself a maize
maze and a fishery. Wells is an attractive sea side town,
and Burnham Market and Holt are Georgian gems. Burnham Market
has up market food and clothes shops, and the whole of the
area has excellent restaurants and cafes at all price levels. |
|
| There is golf at Brancaster and Hunstanton and sailing
along the coast from a number of small harbours. There is
good walking in the area; the Peddar’s Way runs near
South Creake, and for the less energetic, seal trips to
Blakeney Point, or crabbing at the various quays, and horse
racing at Fakenham in season. Pensthorpe, the home of BBC
Springwatch is 1 mile outside Fakenham ! |
